SDRF Deployment

State Disaster Response Force (SDRF)

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been strategically deployed across Sikkim to ensure effective disaster response and timely rescue operations. The deployment details are as follows:

  • One platoon of Home Guards and Civil Defence (HG&CD) stationed at Gangtok covers the entire Gangtok city.
  • Two platoons of Sikkim Armed Police (SAP) stationed at Pangthang cover Mangan District, Gangtok District, and Pakyong District.
  • Two platoons of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) under the Commandant, 2nd IRB, stationed at Pipley, Mangalbaria Sub-Division, cover Soreng District, Gyalshing District, and Jorethang town area.
  • Two platoons of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) under the Commandant, 3rd IRB, stationed at Manglay, Yangang Sub-Division, cover Namchi District, Singtam town, and Rangpo town.

These deployments ensure that trained personnel are readily available to manage rescue and relief operations efficiently, thereby reducing response time and enhancing the overall effectiveness of disaster management efforts.
